The best hummus recipe you'll ever taste

Updated: Mar 6, 2023

If you're anything like me, you love hummus. It's the perfect snack food — healthy, filling, and packed with protein. But finding a good and simple recipe can be a challenge. There are certainly many out there. So I wanted to share with you my favourite go-to hummus recipe.

I've been making this dish for years and it never fails to impress. Whether you're serving it at a party or just snacking on it at home, this hummus will be a hit!

Hummus
Yummy hummus in a few minutes.

The recipe yields 1.5 cups of hummus. It takes about 5 minutes to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

  • 3 tbsp. tahini

  • 2 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp. cumin

  • 1/2 tsp. sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

  • 1/4 cup aquafaba (or oil, if using)

  • Water, as needed

  • Pinch of paprika or chilli flakes, for garnish (optional)

  • Fresh parsley leaves, for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Put everything in your blender and blend until smooth. (Depending on how powerful your blender is, this could take from 60 seconds to a couple of minutes.)

  2. Add water or/and aquafaba as needed.

  3. Eat with raw veggies, on bread or crackers or straight out of the container - the possibilities are endless!

Notes:

This recipe freezes well for several weeks in an airtight container.

You can use dried chickpeas instead of canned ones, just make sure to take the extra time for soaking and boiling into account.

And that’s it! I hope you like it.
